East Village West’s Opening Bash & Moheak Show Video

This past Saturday, Ann Magnuson and Kenny Sharf presented the opening bash for “East Village West” their art show celebrating California pop culture and Hollywood’s influence on New York City’s neo-Dada art and underground club scene.

Thursday on Moheak Radio, Magnuson was our special call-in guest,  talking with us about the event, the collection, and sharing anecdotes from her after dark adventures, her successful acting career (of course we HAD to ask about kissing David Bowie in The Hunger!), and her fabulous life on both coasts.

Party maestro Bryan Rabin & DJ/musician extraordinaire Howie Pyro (who spun at the event) were in studio with us and we spun select tracks from Club 57, which was the hub for all the arty hi-jinx back in the late 70′s/early 80′s.

Check out our LA Weekly slideshow from the opening soiree at Royal T Gallery here.

Listen to the Moheak setlist we made for the show Spotify.

Also read our review of Pyro’s band D-Generation at the Troubadour here & check out the slideshow too.

Watch the Moheak show here and see below for a few more pics from the event AND the EXCLUSIVE Club 57 mix list Magnuson shared with us!!!!!
