Shoppy Do! Give Branded Tees From Your Favorite LA Bars and Clubs

For this edition of Shoppy Do, we offer holiday gift ideas for those who ♥ LA by directing you to some  Los Angeles’ nightlife landmarks for branded t-shirts and goodies. Okay, so we’ve all got like a million t-shirts filling up our drawers, but we think there’s something about bar and club-branded tees that’s really special… especially if a great night was had at the place or if you met the person you’re giving it to there.

The best way to get venue merch is to go there of course, but most websites offer a nice look at goods for you out of towners or home-bodies. Two of our favorite venues offer two of our favorite tees too: Jumbo’s Clown Room and The Roxy Theatre. Also, pretty much every club (venue or promoted night) has a cute promo tee these days. Two more we like from our personal collection– Das Bunker and Bar Sinister — are pictured below.

Just like worn-in old concert tees, club tees feel like a tiny piece of history that can conjure the debaucherous fun you had every time you put ‘em on. Pictured below we share a shot of one of our prized possessions: an original tee from departed DJ legend Billy Limbo’s legendary retro night from the 80′s: Club 1970 (in a rare pink shade). It’s a big one so we do the girly sleep-shirt thing. Also shown here: a tank from 90′s fave Club Cherry. We won’t model the Club Cherry undies here, though! Come to think of it, we have a lot of printed panties from LA parties too! Best to stick with tees for Christmas gifts folks!

Want to remember your favorite club from way back in the day? Check out DeadClubs.com which designs a fun line of tees emblazoned with logos from long-gone hotspots, most from the Sunset Strip era. Our Coconut Teazer tee above is from their Strip line and it has special signicifance: one of our first jobs — as a grown up — was as guest-list girl there!

Look for more Jumbo’s coverage (where photo at top is from) and a report from The Roxy (with Semi-Precious Weapons) on the blog later today!
